Basketball Recap: Kingsburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Washington Union last Tuesday, Kingsburg came back down to earth. The Kingsburg Vikings fell to the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears 68-64. The Vikings have struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Nevin Pitkin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sierra Pacific, putting up 26 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Pitkin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Colin Dodd, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 boards.

Kingsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Sierra Pacific, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Kingsburg will take on Immanuel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingsburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Immanuel likes a good challenge. As for Sierra Pacific, they will challenge Central Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sierra Pacific is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.4 points per game this season.
