Soccer Game Preview: Royal vs. Wahluke

The Royal Knights will challenge the Wahluke Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Royal is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Naches Valley just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Rangers. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Royal's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Wahluke came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hawks a 4-0 shutout. Considering Wahluke have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wahluke's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Royal, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.

Royal beat Wahluke by a goal when the teams last played back in October, winning 1-0. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
