Football Recap: Payton College Prep Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Payton College Prep has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 22-3 bruising from the King Jaguars on Saturday.

King found their leader in sophomore Jamar Lewis, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lewis also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making one tackle.

Payton College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for King, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Payton College Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-9 victory against Westinghouse on the 25th. As for King, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against Lane Tech on the 24th.
