Preview: Bastrop Rams vs. Richwood Rams
Bastrop has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Richwood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bastrop is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Richwood in Louisiana (Bastrop is ranked 23rd, while Richwood is ranked 146th).
Bastrop stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 62-25 victory over Union Parish. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Bastrop has posted since December 19, 2023.
It was another big night for Jameiah Peoples, who scored 21 points. Alana Myles was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Richwood beat North Webster 36-31 on Friday. The victory was just what Richwood needed coming off of a 63-21 loss in their prior contest.
Bastrop pushed their record up to 24-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.18 points. As for Richwood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
Bastrop took their win against Richwood when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 50-27. Does Bastrop have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
