Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Galesburg-Augusta's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

After losing to Climax-Scotts the last time they met, Galesburg-Augusta decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-1 on Friday.

Alex Krugh and Nate Ewert did most of the damage at the plate: Krugh went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Ewert went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Ewert has posted since back in April.

Galesburg-Augusta is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Climax-Scotts, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Galesburg-Augusta will take on Hackett Catholic Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Climax-Scotts, they are taking a road trip to take on Olivet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
