Softball Game Preview: Burlington-Edison Tigers vs. Lakewood Cougars

The Burlington-Edison Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Lakewood Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burlington-Edison will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Burlington-Edison barely beat Ferndale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lakewood fell victim to Sedro-Woolley and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Cubs. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

The victory got Burlington-Edison back to even at 6-6-1. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Burlington-Edison took their win against Lakewood when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
