Softball Recap: Lincoln Park Academy Comes Up Short

Lincoln Park Academy had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-12-1 to make it six. They came up short against the Sebastian River Sharks, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on April 1st.

As for Sebastian River, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.

For Sebastian River's part, they got a massive performance out of Rily Biggers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kiera Carow was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln Park Academy will square off against Treasure Coast at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sebastian River, they will challenge Merritt Island at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sharks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
