Softball Recap: Thunder Basin's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Thunder Basin dropped their record down to 14-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Campbell County Camels by a score of 14-12. The Bolts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Camels earlier this season, when they won 8-6.

Alex Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Campbell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games.

On Campbell County's side, Bayley Gray was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Lanae Kimbley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Thunder Basin will challenge Sheridan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Campbell County, they will square off against Worland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Camels are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
