The Coolidge Colts will challenge the Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Coolidge's favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home while Georgetown Visitation Prep has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Coolidge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Eastern by a score of 54-46.

Coolidge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josslyn Derricott, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. Derricott has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylyn Derricott, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Coolidge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Georgetown Visitation Prep fought the good fight in their overtime match against Maret on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Frogs by a score of 62-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), the Cubs still had to take the loss.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Alyssa Fitzgerald and Kennedy Austin. Austin had a great game and dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Meanwhile, Fitzgerald did her best for the losing side, putting up 17 points.
Coolidge's victory bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Coolidge has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Georgetown Visitation Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Coolidge was able to grind out a solid win over Georgetown Visitation Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 66-58. Will Coolidge repeat their success, or does Georgetown Visitation Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
