Baseball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for Aldine

There's no place like home for Aldine, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the MacArthur Generals on Saturday, sneaking past 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Generals last Tuesday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Jansyel Barbosa made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Barbosa wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Velez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another was Orlando Reyes, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Aldine's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for MacArthur, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.

We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. As for MacArthur, they will face off against Spring at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur's pitchers better be ready for this one: Spring has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
