The North Rowan Cavaliers will face off against the Thomasville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Rowan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
While North Rowan's victory against South Davidson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. North Rowan skirted past South Davidson 11-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Prange, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. He has become a key player for North Rowan: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zion Gillespie, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Prange wasn't the only one working in the hit department: North Rowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. North Rowan is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Thomasville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Starmount on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 4-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.
Travail Barnes put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Barnes wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Bankhead, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
North Rowan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 11 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.33 in the others. As for Thomasville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. North Rowan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Thomasville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
