Basketball Game Preview: Giles Spartans vs. Galax Maroon Tide

Giles hasn't had much luck against Galax recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Giles Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Galax Maroon Tide at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Giles is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Monday. They fell 58-48 to Narrows.

Meanwhile, Galax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 72-49 to Carroll County. While losing is never fun, the Maroon Tide can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 35th).

Giles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Galax, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Giles suffered a grim 58-33 defeat to Galax in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Giles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
