Basketball Recap: Firelands Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Firelands fought the good fight in their overtime game against Oberlin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Phoenix. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Phoenix since Friday.

Carmello Williams went supernova For Oberlin., going 7-for-9 en route to 17 points along with six boards and three steals. Williams is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Drew Walters, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Firelands' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oberlin, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Looking ahead, Firelands will challenge Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oberlin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-46 defeat against Cuyahoga Heights on the 6th.
