Volleyball Recap: Cle Elum-Roslyn Comes Up Short

If Cle Elum-Roslyn was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of White Swan on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the La Salle Lightning by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Cle Elum-Roslyn wouldn't go down easily and took La Salle into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 25-14, 13-25, 15-12.

Cle Elum-Roslyn's offense was headlined by Megan Garcia and Rachel Mendenhall, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Audrey Teh and her 30 assists. Finally, Charlotte Nansel and Jazmyne Castleberry kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked seven attacks.

Cle Elum-Roslyn's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. As for La Salle, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Cle Elum-Roslyn will challenge River View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Salle, they will face off against Granger at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
