Basketball Recap: Westhope/Newburg Skates Past Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon with Ease

Westhope/Newburg was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon on Tuesday. The Westhope/Newburg Sioux took their game with ease, bagging a 60-30 victory over the Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon Hornets. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for the Sioux this season.

Westhope/Newburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Laken Lee out in front who went 8-for-13 en route to 21 points and seven boards. Lee continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marleigh Henry, who went 6-for-7 on her way to 14 points and four steals.

Westhope/Newburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon only posted two assists.

When it comes to explaining why Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon lost, don't look at Rachel Neumiller. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points. Rylee Jones was another key player, putting up nine rebounds.

Westhope/Newburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games.
