Basketball Recap: Ascend Leadership Takes a Loss

Ascend Leadership was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies, falling 65-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aviators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-37 back in December of 2024.

Ascend Leadership's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Clover Garden School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ascend Leadership has already played their next game (against Chatham Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clover Garden School will venture away from home to face off against Southern Wake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
