It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Jac-Cen-Del ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Southwestern Rebels 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Rebels since May 7, 2021.

Blake Wagner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Jac-Cen-Del and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Southwestern, they moved to 10-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Jac-Cen-Del will be playing in front of their home fans against South Ripley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Southwestern, they will head out on the road to challenge Clarksville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Generals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
