Basketball Recap: North Atlanta Skates Past Alpharetta with Ease

There's no place like home for North Atlanta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Alpharetta Raiders, posting a 67-28 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

North Atlanta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryanna Carson led the charge by putting up 16 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds. Carson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ayumi Abraham, who posted 11 points and seven steals.

Despite the loss, Alpharetta still got an impressive performance from Lauren Andrews, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That was a full 53.6% of Alpharetta's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Han Irfan also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

North Atlanta's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Alpharetta, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19.
