Football Recap: Bishop Hartley Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Bishop Hartley's offense. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Walsh Jesuit Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, the Hawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mathew Galich threw for 79 yards on 12 of 25 attempts.

Bishop Hartley dropped their record down to 4-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Walsh Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bishop Hartley will take on Bishop Watterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Walsh Jesuit, after both having extra time off, they and St. Vincent-St. Mary will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Fighting Irish will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
