Recap: Copiah Academy Colonels vs. Parklane Academy Pioneers
The Copiah Academy Colonels and the Parklane Academy Pioneers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Copiah Academy Colonels had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 56-53. Copiah Academy's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it five in a row.
Parklane Academy was led to victory by Georgia Lindsey and Carlyle Carruth. Lindsey scored 17 points, while Carruth scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Brewer, who scored nine points.
Copiah Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Parklane Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
Copiah Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against East Rankin Academy at 7:45 p.m. East Rankin Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Copiah Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parklane Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-35 victory vs. Bowling Green on the 10th.
