Soccer Game Preview: Goldsboro vs. Spring Creek + How To Watch

Goldsboro hasn't had much luck against Spring Creek recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cougars will look to defend their home pitch against the Gators at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Goldsboro fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Princeton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The game got a bit rough at times, as the refs handed out a total of three yellow cards before it was all over: Goldsboro's Joseph Hayes and Aiden Ramirez-Cruz and Princeton's Yamil Marquez Hernandez were all carded.

Goldsboro's goal came courtesy of Ramirez-Cruz, who's now up to 17 this season.

Spring Creek had taken Wallace-Rose Hill down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Gators fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Spring Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Wallace-Rose Hill are ranked 95th).

Spring Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for Goldsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
