Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bear Creek). They put the hurt on the Chavez Titans with a sharp 16-2 victory on Friday. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jaxson Bayani, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Bear Creek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jacob Ordez, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Bear Creek and bumps their season record up to 7-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Chavez, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Looking ahead, Bear Creek will head out on the road to square off against Weston Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chavez, they will be playing at home against Tokay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
