Volleyball Recap: Research Triangle Find Success + How To Watch

Research Triangle took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against East Wake Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raptors won by a set and slipped past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raptors have posted since October 7, 2024.

Research Triangle took East Wake Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 17-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-9.

Research Triangle found their leader in sophomore Kat Liquorie, who had 23 digs and three aces. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Liquorie.

Research Triangle's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for East Wake Academy, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Research Triangle will head out to take on Raleigh Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Wake Academy, they will take on Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
