Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Noxubee County walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Yazoo County Panthers with a sharp 41-15 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Noxubee County found their leader in sophomore BJ Payton, who forced one fumble and made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Yazoo County still got an impressive performance from Chandler Hardman, who rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Noxubee County, bringing their record up to 8-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.8 points over those games. As for Yazoo County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Noxubee County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 35-8 victory against Coahoma County on the 14th. Yazoo County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
