Baseball Recap: Catholic Gets the Win

While Catholic's victory against Norfolk Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Catholic narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Norfolk Christian 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Ambassadors: they've now won four in a row.

Andrew Hoehn looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Catholic is 2-1 when Hoehn allowsthree or fewer hits, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Connor Thompson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Norton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Catholic's record is now 3-4. As for Norfolk Christian, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catholic will challenge Christchurch School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norfolk Christian, they will face off against Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
