Canton scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Callaway, 15-14. At the time, the Chargers were ranked 21st in the state, while the Tigers were 122nd.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Canton, who took down 21st ranked Callaway, 15-14. Felix Morment ran for 104 yards during the win.

Ledarius Carpenter threw for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Carpenter put up the best numbers through the air as Pearl bested Vicksburg. Carpenter's favorite target this week was Demorrious Brown, who caught 6 passes for 93 yards.

Pearl's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carpenter has thrown for 1,990 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Brown has 46 catches for 1,008 yards.

The Pirates' Carpenter is within 10 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Ridgeland.

Neshoba Central's Pat Burrage needs only 71 yards against Lanier next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 182 carries Burrage has put up 929 yards this year.

The Titans are currently in third, while Pearl is in first.

John Perry's team added to the longest winning streak in 5A Region 2 this week by beating the Gators, 37-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Pirates.
