Baseball Game Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Crossroads Roadrunners

The Troy Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Crossroads Roadrunners at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Troy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Crossroads' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Troy came up short against Sunny Hills and fell 5-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Crossroads waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Dolphins with a sharp 9-2 victory. Considering the Roadrunners have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Quinn Barach tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Miles Zoog was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Avery Deutch was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Crossroads' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Troy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
