Basketball Recap: Mendota Comes Up Short

Mendota suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Wednesday. They lost 70-48 to the Madera South Stallions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-50 two weeks ago.

Mendota has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Madera South, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Mendota will finish 2024 at home by hosting Torres at 7:30 p.m. on December 26th. Torres knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Mendota likes a good challenge. As for Madera South, they will take on Fowler in a tournament on Friday. Fowler will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Madera South surely won't give up without a fight.
