Baseball Recap: Temecula Valley Comes Up Short

Temecula Valley fell victim to Great Oak and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 1-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Bears of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Chase Hilt spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. Temecula Valley is 5-1 when Hilt allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

Temecula Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Great Oak, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-13.
