Basketball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gordon-Rushville on Friday, Mitchell came back down to earth. The Mitchell Tigers took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chadron Cardinals on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Chadron, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6.

Mitchell will head out to take on Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Clayton Shultz and Taylor Homan. As for Chadron, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Chadron Cardinals challenge the Hemingford Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
