Baseball Recap: Bishop's Comes Up Short

Bishop saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Oceanside Pirates by a score of 9-8.

Bishop's got a good showing from Grayson Blatt, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Blatt a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Clyde Kates made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Miles Miller also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Bishop's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Oceanside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Bishop's will be taking part in a tournament against San Dieguito Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oceanside, they will take on Valley Center in a tournament on Monday.
