Soccer Game Preview: Somerset Academy vs. Mourning

The Somerset Academy Panthers will face off against the Mourning Sharks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.1 goals per game this season.

Last Thursday, Somerset Academy earned a 3-1 win over South Broward. Arianna Peck had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Panthers.

Somerset Academy used a slightly different lineup for their bout with South Broward. Sophia Valdez played for 80 minutes having averaged 29.9 this season and Peck got 78 vs. an average of 53.7. Peck made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Despite a strong season so far, Mourning has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost 10-0 to Northwestern on Thursday.

Mourning's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Somerset Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
