St. James faced Fort Dorchester in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Sharks fell 2-0 to the Patriots. The Sharks' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While St. James was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-23.

Among those leading the charge was Cade Ridgway, who had 19 digs and two assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times he's played.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Fort Dorchester, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. James will take on North Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Dorchester, they will square off against Cane Bay at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cobras will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
