Baseball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to the Rockwood Summit Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2016.

Landen Deckard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Rockwood Summit, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will host Mehlville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rockwood Summit, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seckman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
