Softball Game Preview: Lake Washington Kangaroos vs. Skyline Spartans

The Lake Washington Kangaroos will face off against the Skyline Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lake Washington has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while Skyline will arrive with three straight victories.

Lake Washington is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Liberty on Wednesday. They lost 10-2 to the Patriots.

Lake Washington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elise Roe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Scarlett Stapleton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Skyline hadn't done well against Bothell recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Spartans blew past the Cougars 16-6. Considering the Spartans have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Skyline pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
