Basketball Recap: Huntley Comes Up Short

Huntley lost against McHenry back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huntley Red Raiders fell just short of the McHenry Warriors by a score of 47-44. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Warriors are ranked 76th).

This is the second loss in a row for Huntley and nudges their season record down to 12-18. As for McHenry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 25-6 record this season.

Huntley will head out on the road to challenge Rockford East at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rockford East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.5 points per game this season. As for McHenry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jacobs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
