St. Cloud and West Orange pushed the score to 14-5 the last time they played West Orange, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Warriors 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Warriors since February 22, 2019.

The result came thanks to Addison Felblinger's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. Cloud saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Comiskey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jaz Santiago also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

St. Cloud is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for West Orange, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Cloud will host Rockledge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Orange, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Davenport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
