Volleyball Recap: Shakamak Starts Season with Victory Against Vincennes Rivet

Shakamak gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Vincennes Rivet Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lakers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Shakamak never let Vincennes Rivet on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-22.

Brylee Faulk paced Shakamak's offense, picking up 12 kills. Faulk got some help from Ava McCrary and her 31 assists. Isla Kaufman controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Shakamak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Owen Valley on the 18th. As for Vincennes Rivet, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Wood Memorial on the 21st.
