Football Recap: Forest Hills Piles Up the Points Against Fairmont

While Forest Hills put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Fairmont. The Yellow Jackets blew past the Golden Tornadoes, posting a 42-0 victory. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Golden Tornadoes are ranked 388th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Forest Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josiah Oxendine, who threw for 132 yards and four TDs. Those 132 passing yards gave Oxendine a new career-high. Demarion Hough was in the mix as well, providing Forest Hills with two scores.

Forest Hills has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 31.5 points thus far. As for Fairmont, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Forest Hills will square off against Community School of Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairmont, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
