Soccer Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Rye's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thomas MacLaren School, Rye was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Florence Huskies get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rye also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Nicoline Larson and Averi Velez scored both of Rye's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Rye is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those eight contests. As for Florence, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Rye does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Florence, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Lamar at 4:00 p.m.
