Basketball Game Preview: Mauldin Mavericks vs. Easley Green Wave

The Mauldin Mavericks will face off against the Easley Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mauldin is headed into Tuesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They fell 50-40 to T.L. Hanna on Friday.

Meanwhile, Easley played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 66-39 loss at the hands of Greenwood. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Eagles are ranked 47th).

Mauldin will have to keep a close watch on Josalynn Gamble and Camora Little, a pair of players who had a big impact on Easley's prior game. Gamble went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and five boards, while Little posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Easley's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Mauldin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
