Softball Recap: St. Mary's Victorious

St. Mary won against Agua Fria on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The St. Mary's Knights beat the Odyssey Institute Minotaur by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Giahni Ruiz and Marianna Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Ruiz got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hernandez scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ava Sierras, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

St. Mary's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Odyssey Institute only posted an OBP of .154.

St. Mary's now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Odyssey Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

St. Mary's wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Maricopa on the 28th. As for Odyssey Institute, they have also already played their next match, a 13-8 victory against Youngker on the 28th.
