Basketball Game Preview: Cherokee Chiefs vs. Burlington Elks

Cherokee and Burlington are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Cherokee Chiefs will host the Burlington Elks at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Cherokee will be strutting in after a victory while Burlington will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Cherokee blew past Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, posting a 49-19 win.

Meanwhile, Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 51-44 to Waynoka.

Cherokee's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14. As for Burlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Cherokee didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Burlington when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-53 win. Will Cherokee repeat their success, or does Burlington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
