Softball Recap: Cameron Comes Up Short

Cameron had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it five. They fell just short of the Frontier Cougars by a score of 11-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Tuesday.

Cameron got a massive performance out of Edie Hartley, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kendra Thomas, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

As for Frontier, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On Frontier's side, Addison Edgar was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Edgar has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Grosklos, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cameron will venture away from home to take on River at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Frontier, they will head out to challenge Bridgeport at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
