Basketball Recap: Copiah Academy Comes Up Short

Copiah Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 83-44 loss at the hands of the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots. The Colonels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Bizot led the charge by going 6 of 11from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points. Bizot's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Carr, who posted 13 points along with five assists and four steals.

Copiah Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Copiah Academy will venture away from home to take on Wayne Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they will host Choctaw Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Madison-Ridgeland Academy is facing Choctaw Central at the right time seeing as Choctaw Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
