Softball Recap: Pope County Takes a Loss

Pope County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Galatia/Thompsonville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 6-4 on Friday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Pope County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Presser, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Bella Fasolo, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Pope County's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Galatia/Thompsonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Pope County will venture away from home to take on Crab Orchard at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Galatia/Thompsonville, they will host Shawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
