Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Comes Up Short

If Pinnacle was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Wendover on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bryce Valley Mustangs on Wednesday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Brody Howell and Joey Howell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Brody went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Joey went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Brody has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Dominick Vigil also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pinnacle now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bryce Valley, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pinnacle will square off against rival Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bryce Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Panguitch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
