Preview: Wellsville-Middletown Tigers vs. Liberty Christian Academy Eagles
Wellsville-Middletown is 5-0 against Liberty Christian Academy since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Last Friday, Wellsville-Middletown was beaten by Montgomery County 71-10. Wellsville-Middletown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-6.
Meanwhile, Liberty Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between Liberty Christian Academy and Christian Fellowship wasn't particularly close, with Liberty Christian Academy falling 59-45.
Despite the defeat, Liberty Christian Academy had strong showings from Willy Mueller, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds, and Jack Duvel, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Wellsville-Middletown bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
Wellsville-Middletown was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 38-27.
