Football Preview: Paul VI Panthers vs. Archbishop Carroll Lions        
        
		
             The Paul VI Panthers will take on the Archbishop Carroll Lions at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both  are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 Archbishop Carroll is hoping to do what Bishop O'Connell couldn't  on Saturday: put an end to Paul VI's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Paul VI claimed a resounding  38-0 win over Bishop O'Connell. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by 21  points or more  so far this season.
 Paul VI didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Gabriel Johnson and  Adam Corkhill.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Archbishop Carroll). They blew past Saint John Paul the Great Catholic 50-0  on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their 12-point performance the  game before.
 Archbishop Carroll can attribute much of their success to   Avery Glass, who threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns, and   Jason Battle, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown. Battle's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mark Butler Jr, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Paul VI pushed their record up to 8-2 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Archbishop Carroll, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 4-6.
 Friday's   match might be decided in the on the ground. Paul VI has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 190.9  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Carroll struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 154. It's looking like  Friday's  matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
