Recap: Kemper Academy Rams vs. Sylva Bay Academy Saints
The Kemper Academy Rams had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They rang in the new year with a 44-36 victory over Sylva Bay Academy on Friday. For Kemper Academy, this counts as revenge for the 43-38 loss Sylva Bay Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Sylva Bay Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reese Shumock, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Raeghan Bennett, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Kemper Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Sylva Bay Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kemper Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Columbus Christian Academy on January 16th. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Laurel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
